2004 Eddy Award, Lighting Product of the Year (Software): Lightwright 4 |
| “Talk about intuitive interface,” said one judge. “There are so many upgrades, improvements and innovations. It is similar to Microsoft Word in a (good) way: many folks will never use all the features, but that's okay as long as it does really well those things that you need it to do.” Says another:“Imagining lighting paperwork without Lightwright is scary! John McKernon has made this workhorse even more seamless with current technology and practice. Awesome!” |
2003 Software Product of the Year: Lightwright 4 |
|
2003 saw Lightwright 4 follow in the footsteps of Lightwright 3 by receiving the nod at LDI as the Lighting Tools and Software Product of the Year. Lightwright 4's new integrated Focus Charts, Work Notes, Moving Light Libraries and other new features impressed the judges, most of whom thought Lightwright 3 was already perfect! |
2002 Lightwright Named "Product that Changed our World" |
|
In the September 2002 issue of Lighting Dimensions magazine, Michael Eddy included Lightwright on his list of "Products that Changed our World," saying: |
"Many people had taken shots at keeping track of lights, all the associated accessories, essentially everything a lighting design requires, but LD John McKernon's Lightwright program has grown over the years into the standard for keeping track of it all. I dare most assistant designers to manage a large show without it... It is one program that has stood the test of time." |
1998 Software Product of the Year: Lightwright 3 |
|
In November of 1998, Lightwright 3 received the LDI '98 Lighting Tools and Software Product of the Year award! It made such an impression on the judges that they insisted on creating the award category during a long night of judging, so there was actually no physical trophy on hand to present at the awards ceremony! Apparently they were aware of the impact that Lightwright has had on the lighting community, and the release of version 3 was certainly news for everyone to cheer about. |
