Modern operating systems permit each user to have their
own desktop, taskbar, and preferences. If you have an
Institutional license for Lightwright, you can install the
registered name, serial number, and approval code on
specific computers, instead of having to install them for
every user. The LWAdmin.exe program can be used to store Lightwright
registration information in the system registry under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. This will permit anyone using that
computer to run Lightwright. LWAdmin.exe is installed in the Lightwright folder as
part of the normal setup.exe installation, and it is also
available on this web site's downloads page. Note that
Lightwright must be installed before LWAdmin.exe can be run,
because LWAdmin.exe uses the same run-time modules as
Lightwright. Institutional registration information should
NOT be entered into Lightwright if you use LWAdmin.exe Use of LWAdmin.exe is self-explanatory, you can use it to
store Lightwright registration information as well as remove
it. The user running LWAdmin.exe must have administrative
privileges, and LWAdmin.exe can only install Institutional
licenses. Log in as a user with Administrator privileges. Install Lightwright 4 by dragging the Lightwright folder
onto the target Mac's hard drive. First, we need to make Lightwright create a registration
file. To do that, run Lightwright and enter the required
licensing information including the institutional serial
number, registered name, and approval code. Quit
Lightwright. Find and open the Lightwright folder within the user's
Preferences folder
(Home->Library->Preferences->Lightwright). Inside
that folder is a file named "Lightwright 4
Registration.regi" (the .regi may not show, depending on
your settings). Drag the "Lightwright 4 Registration.regi"
file to the desktop. DO NOT option-drag it, as you do NOT
want a copy of it left in the user's preferences folder! Drag the "Lightwright 4 Registration.regi" file from the
desktop into the computer's Application Support folder,
which is normally found on the computer's hard drive inside
the Library folder. If you have multiple computers, you can drag copies of
the "Lightwright 4 Registration.regi" file into each
computers' Application Support folder. Do NOT enter the
registration information into each computer by running
Lightwright unless you have an Individual registration. That's it!
